This is for general information to all the concerned that the Mizoram Chakma Students’ Union, Aizawl Zone is going to convene it’s 1st General meeting on 2nd April, 2016 (Saturday) at 11:00am at MSCU Office ,Chakma House,Hunthar Veng,Aizawl. So, all the students studying in Aizawl are requested to attend the Meeting without fail. Some of the Agendas which will be discussing in the meeting are as follows:
1. Upcoming Bizzu Celebration 2016.
2. Discussion to keep a Buddhist Monk within Aizawl area.
3. MCSU ID Card.
4. Discussion regarding the Annual Action Plan 2016-2017.

2015-2016 Activities Report

                                   AIZAWL MCSU RECONSTITUTED

The Executive Body of the Mizoram Chakma Students’  Union (MCSU), Aizawl Zone was reconstituted every year by either election or selection of the candidates.Similarly,this year also we reconstituted our Executive Body for the academic year 2015-16 by holding its 11th General Election on 3rd April,2015 at the premises of MCSU Office, Chakma House, Aizawl under the Returning Officer of Mr.Jyoti Bikash Chakma,former President and Adviser to MCSU Aizawl. The newly reconstituted Executive Body of MCSU, Aizawl Zone consists of the following Office Bearers and occupied the office w.e.f. 3rd April,2015.

                                               A.BIZU CELEBRATION

Bizu is the main festival of the Chakmas.It is also celebrated by the MCSU Aizawl with so many items of Traditional Games and Sports in the Chakma house compound Aizawl and a Bizu Utsav Party at Picnic Spot.
On 13th  and  14th  April,2015
‘BIZU’ were celebrated with song and traditional & non traditional games at the premises of the Chakma House Aizawl. The following games were playwd:-
(i) Gheela Hara.
(ii) Musical Chair ( For Girls)
(iii) Chinese Cheeker ( For Girls)
(iv) Blind hit,etc.
The students were divided into three groups by giving different names with the group leader are as follows;-
(1) GROUP ‘A’ named as (Radhamon-Dhanpudi)  &  led by Ranadhir Chakma & Nomuna Chakma.
(2) GROUP ‘B’ named as (Punong Chan & Tanyabi) & led by Rupam Chakma & Rinsha Chakma
(3) GROUP ‘C’ named as (Nauram & Chandobi) & led by Denish Chakma & Sorita Chakma.

BUDDHA PURNIMA CELEBRATION
On 4th May,2015, Buddha Purnima were celebrated in collaboration  with  MCSU Aizawl and the familes living in Aizawl at Chakma House.

Ashari Purnima
On 29th July,2015, Ashari Purnima was organised at Chakma House,Aizawl. Then at Evening thousand of candles (Aajar Batti) Had lighted at the Chakma House area.


                             B.EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT, 2015
Every year, Chakma students achieve excellent result from Aizawl city.It is a great pride for the MCSU Aizawl Zone to present the list of the successful Chakma Students who cleared up their High School Leaving Certificate(HSLC) Examination and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate(HSSLC) Examination held in 2015.

Total 519 students passed in HSLC Examination 2015 from all over Mizoram.

                     ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON CAREER GUDANCE

A one day workshop on Career Guidance and Counseling for the Second time was  organized by Aizawl MCSU on 23rd May,2015 at Chakma House,Aizawl. The Workshop was primarily conducted with the motive to educate the Chakma students about the various educational courses available after completing the Matriculation and the Pre-University Exams.  It also envisaged and advocated on the need of higher education amongst the modern Chakma youths.The Worshop was sponsored by Dr.B.D Chakma, Hon’ble Minister of State, Government of Mizoram. The programme was graced by Jyoti Bikash Chakma, Adviser MCSU Aizawl as the Chief Guest. A  total of around 50 Chakma Students were
participated in the event. Finally,certificate were distributed to all the participants by our Chief Guest.
                                           CHAKMA GRADUATES

As recorded in the result book of Mizoram University, which was declared on 10th July, 2015. This year 33 Chakma students have successfully completed their Bachelor degree in different streams from all over Mizoram. Out of them, 8 students are from Aizawl and other from various colleges of the other districts of Mizoram. We heartily congratulate all the Chakma graduates and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. The Chakma graduates from Aizawl Zone are listed below:

                                                 AALPALONI
The MCSU, Aizawl Zone  organized its secpnd ‘Aalpaloni Utsav’  on 23rd  June, 2015 at Chakma House,Aizawl. An estimate  of around 50 students as well as family members were participated in the Utsav. On the occasion, some outside  guests were also invited.

                                            Annual Sports  Meets

The MCSU Aizawl Zone successfully conducted its 3rd Annual Sports Meets for 4 days on 11th,12th,18 and 19th July, 2015.Two days outdoor and two days indoor games were conducted. The venue for the outdoor games shall be  the Joint YMA Field, Vaivakawn; and all the indoor games shall be organized at Chakma House, Aizawl. The students were divided into three House group viz.,
(1)Udaigiri  (2)Samakgiri  (3)Vijaygiri
The outdoor items included Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Poor Hara,Relay Race,Tug of war,Cock fight,High Jump, Long Jump,(100,200 & 400)mtrs race,dead ball, Potti Hara . And, indoor items included were Carom, Chinese cheeker,Chess, Musical Chair, Spoon race (girls), Gheela hara (boys vs girls), Debate,Speech,Riddle (bana dora dori),Essay writing,Gossip( gop mara mari),Talent show.
Second runner up was Vijaygiri House by winning 8 gold,10 silver & 8 bronze and the first runner up is Samakgiri by winning 10 gold,11 silver & 15 bronze. The champion House in 2015 was Udaigiri by winning 12 gold,9 silver & 7 bronze.

                                   

                                         BLOOD DONATION CAMP
Blood can save lives. Chakma students volunteer to donate blood in hospitals each year since its inception in 2004 to overcome the scarcity of blood needed by patients coming from different villages and different communities.
This year the MCSU Aizawl zone has organised its 11th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Civil Hospital, Aizawl on 8th August,2015. The MCSU vol-unteers donated a total of 34 units of blood (31 males and 3 females). Apart from blood donation, MCSU members also help patients coming from rural areas in different ways. They help them to see doctors, stay overnight with the patients in the hospitals, and when the patients die, students make the arrangement to carry the dead bodies to their homes. Students also accompany the dead bodies if needed.

                                           
                                          DEATH BODY ESCORTED!
Regardless to say, but it’s a fact, since the inception of Aizawl MCSU, a large number its  members have  been spending  uncountable days and nights at various hospitals in Aizawl to look after the critical  Chakma patients who come from different corners of the state.  This  year too,the MCSU, Aizawl Zone  is continuing to render  its  priceless  social services  for the sake of the  Chakma community. Recently, the Union has  escorted four death bodies from Aizawl to their respective villages. Following were the deceased persons whom the MCSU had convoyed:

                                                  CENSUS REPORT
Being a Non-Govermental Organisation,it is ought to know for the Union that how many Chakmas students are studying and family living in Aizawl.That is why,the MCSU Aizawl conducted census/survayed for the Aizawl Chakmas.After three month survayed,we found that the amount of 425 Chakmas including students and family living in Aizawl.51 families in rent and the other are students in boarding as well as in private hostels.As per the census report,75 students are studying under matric(Kg to class IX),52 students inclass X,72 students in class XI&XII,76 students in collages and 11 in post graduation including P.hD,M.Phill and distance(IGNOU) and 28 students are doing technical courses such as Engineering,Medical,Polytheniques,etc.
                                             FRESHERS’ SOCIAL
The annual function is organised to introduce the new students (freshers) and seniors to each other. Apart from introduction, the students are also given chance to show their talents in various cultural activities like dancing and singing. The 11th Freshers’ Social Meet 2015 was organized at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl on 12th  September,2015. The function was graced by John Rotluangliana, Hon’ble Minister Govt’of Mizoram as  Chief Guests, Dr.B.D Chakam, Minister of State, Government of  Mizoram as Guest of Honour, and Shri K.K Tong, Chairman CADC,Purnya Muni Chakma,Dupty Chairman,and Anil Kumar Chakma,Planning Chairman as Special Guests. Besides,Counterpart from Meghalaya Chakma Students’ Union and Barak Valley Chakma Students’ Association.

The  annual picnic of the MCSU Aizawl Zone was organised on 14th November,2015 at Oasis picnic resort.

The MCSU Aizawl Zone publishes its calendar each year. It has published its calendar for the year 2016 and it is available at its office in Aizawl.
